Frankfurt Musikmesse, 2011
Bauhaus Distribution exhibited at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2011 (Hall 1.1/Stand D36) where it played host to players, admirers, legends and customers*. On behalf of the Bauhaus staff who were upstaged by them - Thank you.
After a year of augmentation and diversification, MusikMesse ably showcased the fruits of BW's labour: a big step for us; a giant leap for our Kudos with a legendary major endorsee: Bobby Wellins (our first!). He talked, he played, he awed he's been doing it for over 50 years:
"His influence and importance to several generations of British jazz musicians and improvisers is obvious just by checking out how many of them mention him as either an influence, collaborator, teacher -- or all three."
Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
The BWs attracted more stars: Ernie Watts was unexpected, wonderful and bewitched by the M2-DL (big bell, dark lacquer, ornate, swarthy). The new M2-E "Earth" Tenor (bare) got perhaps the greatest plaudit:
"..like having your cake & eating it..." (Tony Kofi - Best instrumentalist, 2008 BBC Jazz awards, MOBO nominee ).

Denuded of lacquer and plating, the Bauhaus Earth Series still has the quality of timbre and the big-bell oomph of the original Silver/gold series, but the sound is more focused...
Tony Kofi liked this saxophone when he tried it in Frankfurt...

He was with us at the Frankfurt Messe where he played and Wowed the Crowd.
We are honoured and somewhat awed by the joining of our first major endorsee - Bobby Wellins - who has been impressing critics and inspiring players for over 50 years...

A new horn for the Bauhaus M2 Professional Series: The Dark Lacquer on the 'DL' Saxophones combined with the 'Power' bell and beautiful hand engraving...
